Mommy’s Time Out

It may seem obvious to the average person that taking personal time is a no-brainer.  But for a mother to take time for herself, though greatly desired, is many times nearly impossible – nearly.

Here, a Time-Out is NOT a punishment.  It is an opportunity to put yourself in a better place mentally, physically and spiritually so you can give more and better to your family.

Being a mother is one of THE most stressful jobs on the planet, therefore mothers MUST take time for themselves, and yet they don’t.  

This places tremendous responsibility on her and takes its toll.  As a result, when Mom is not functioning well, the entire family is not functioning well.

Here at the surviving mother we encourage mothers to take a time out to relax and laugh.  Starting with these top 25 ideas for time out:

1.) Take a nap (Check out this article on the craziest things tired moms did)

2.) Read some funny articles.

3.) Listen to music

4.) Get a pedicure, manicure or massage

5.) Read a book

6.) Go out with the girls (who doesn’t love girls night?) Try a Paint Night!

7.) Take a hot shower or bubble bath

8.) Hit the local library or bookstore

9.) Call a friend

10.) Go to the gym or practice some yoga at home

11.) Write, draw or color a picture

12.) Enjoy a mug of tea

13.) Visit a greenhouse of florist shop

14.) Watch a movie

15.) Scrapbook or look through old photographs

18.) Spend some time in meditation/prayer

19.) Perform a random act of kindness

20.) Do a crossword puzzle or word search game

24.) Go on a fun date with your significant other

25.) Organize your closet (decluttering your life will help lower the stress)
